Register for a Volunteer Training Session with our Juvenile Justice Ministry

We want all of our ministry leaders to feel equipped and prepared. And we want to do everything we can to help you feel successful and cared for as a partner in our JJM ministry. We are offering training sessions throughout the months of May, June, July and September 2017 to allow time to give you as much information as possible, as well as allow time for questions and conversation. Each training session is made up of 4 weekly classes:

  1. 3Story and Understanding the System
  2. Understanding a High Risk Teen & Safety and Security within the facility
  3. Mentoring 101
  4. Mentoring a High Risk Teen

You must complete all 4 weekly classes to be able to volunteer. All training will take place at 6 p.m. at the Central Indiana Youth for Christ Office located at 1641 E Michigan St, Indianapolis, IN 46201.

When considering partnering with us, please take these commitments into consideration:

A background check is mandatory
Mentoring a teen is a one-year commitment
Must be available for ongoing bi-monthly debriefs as a team and frequent “check-ins” with JJM Director
Must complete all four of the above training classes
Must also complete a one hour training at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center
