FAQ

What is Campus Life?

Campus Life is a relational program that helps young people grow and succeed in a turbulent world. It is made up of high school or junior high students who meet weekly in individual groups, at private homes, schools or community facilities, under the supervision of trained adult staff leaders. There are no membership requirements to be a part of Campus Life. Every student at a school we have a Campus Life program at is welcome to attend.

Campus Life believes in the balanced life concept; therefore, we strive to develop a spiritual, physical, mental, and social balance in the young person’s life.

What happens at a Campus Life club meeting?

Our weekly Campus Life club meetings include games, fun activities, and lively discussions. Meetings are a non-threatening place to share opinions and ideas, to think through important issues in a positive atmosphere, and to develop friendships with peers and caring adults.

How is Campus Life associated with local schools?

Although each Campus Life club consists of students from a particular school, Campus Life has no legal or financial ties with the school system. Any association with a school occurs only with full knowledge and approval of school authorities. Campus Life is endorsed by many educators, civic and political leaders.

Is Campus Life connected with any Church?

No. Campus Life is a division of Youth for Christ, an interdenominational, non-sectarian, independent youth organization. While Campus Life has no formal affiliation with any particular church, it does encourage students to develop a personal faith and be involved in one. Churches of various denominations support Campus Life financially and often participate in mutual activities.

Who are Campus Life staff members?

Each staff member is carefully screened, attends intensive training courses, and serves a one-year internship. Most staff members have a bachelor’s degree; some have graduate degrees. Adult volunteers also undergo a thorough background check and attend yearly training conferences.

How is Campus Life supported?

Each program at Youth for Christ is supported by voluntary, tax-deductible gifts from individuals, civic groups, churches, and businesses. Although Youth for Christ is a national organization, each chapter is locally supported and locally governed by a board of directors. The expansion and development of Campus Life programs is directly related to community support.
